So what’s the challenge…

The IT Security Engineer performs internal investigations and daily monitoring of security infrastructure and system or network logs to identify possible threats, ensuring vulnerabilities are identified and remediated. The role focuses initially on improving the IT Systems’ security posture, resilience of used Technology against latest Cyber-Threats, systems hardening and alignment with Corporate Security Policy. Also, the role acts both proactively and reactively against security breaches, root cause analysis and mitigation efforts.


Your day to day will include


Actively contributing to information security projects and initiatives
Operation and tuning of IT Security Infrastructure tools on: Vulnerabilities Management, Network Monitoring, Web Protection, Cloud Security, PGP Encryption, Group Policy, Privileged Accounts and Identity Management, Access Control Lists, Session Monitoring, Malware & Data Leakage Protection, Database Protection, etc.
Providing technical support to the organization’s IT-Security Team workforce and business partners, to ensure secure operation of corporate applications, network and data
Detecting and analyzing network and system anomalies considered to be Events of Interest (EOI)
Providing security incident response including monitoring, detection and investigation
Communicating, explaining, presenting, demonstrating and documenting the operational impact of a particular event of interest in a timely manner, to ensure proper actions of the response team
Updating products, controlling access, monitoring the protection state of systems, identifying protection gaps, remediating vulnerabilities and coordinating efforts across support teams 
Researching and analyzing security threat intelligence from a variety of sources and applying appropriate mitigations for identified indicators of compromise; suggesting changes to security controls as needed to adapt to the changing threat landscape
Ensuring compliance with organizational security rules and standards, auditing readiness, servicing continuity and governance whilst maintaining service relationship with internal and external stakeholders

What you need to succeed

BSc in Information Technology or Information Security field. An MSc degree is desirable 
3+ years’ experience in IT Security Operations or Security Analysis role in the deployment of complex security solutions in demanding and mission critical environments
Experience in analyzing security logs generated by IDS/IPS, firewalls, anti-virus, and/or other security logging sources
In-depth knowledge of information security principles, practices and risks, preventative measures, incident and threat management
Excellent knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows environments, TCP/IP, routing and Internet-centric applications and protocols; use of scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, and shells)
Solid  knowledge of network infrastructure, including Next Generation Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Virtualization platforms and associated network and system protocols and concepts
Solid knowledge of Cloud Security technologies and experience in major Cloud Service Providers' (Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Oracle, etc.) security operation consoles
Hands on experience with major Security vendors of UTMs, WAFs, Load Balancers, Advanced malware, mobile security, DDoS protection, Data Leakage Prevention, Privileged Identity Management solutions and Cloud Security Consoles (incl. CASB)
Valid CISSP or equivalent certification will be considered a plus
Exhibition of critical thinking and rigorous attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Proven analytical and problem solving skills; high ability to understand complex issues quickly, to effectively analyze business/IT risks and controls and to clearly report and escalate findings
Effective written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English, both in technical and non-technical language
